Welcome to Northville Christian’s Robotics team.

We are all about having fun, sharing our ideas with a good attitude, teamwork, learning about building robots, and competing with other teams at Robofest.

Winter/Spring 2017  Robotics:   RoboHit

2017 Meetings: Wednesdays,  starting on Jan 11, 2017.

Come join the NCA Lights Robotics team as we prepare and participate in RoboHit™, the 2017 RoboFest Game competition this year.  Student grades 5 and up will design, build, and program fully autonomous robots to complete against each other.

We will begin to program robots on Wednesday, Jan 18 at 5:30pm in room G09 and will also meet on Saturdays to build starting in February.

During our weekly Wednesday sessions together, we will focus on robot programming for the beginner to intermediate level students.  That will allow Saturdays as build days.

Students will work in groups of 2-5 persons based on the availability of NCA Lights’ robot kits.  Since those kits are only available during Wednesday and Saturday’s sessions, students are welcome to and encouraged to build with personal kits if available.  To maximize the learning, we also encourage students to bring their own laptops and/or hardware otherwise these will be provided.  Feel free to download the free EV3 robot programming software on your own or get help at one of our meetings.

Cost: $30/student or $40/family

RoboHit Events:

Optional half-day workshop – Saturdays Jan 14 -Feb 11 at LTU – this is highly recommended for students to get a jump on programming.  EV3 workshops offer similar but condensed material as we cover on Wednesdays.

Coach Fred is teaching 3 workshops:  Jan 21 at 1-4pm, Jan 28 at 9-noon and 1-4pm

Robofest Qualifier competitions TBD in March-April
